Who We Are

Service Peace Warriors is a non-profit organization that began with one person’s experience with PTSD and their keen ability for training dogs. Their prime focus is the training and matching of dogs with a Veteran with PTSD. There is no cost to the Veteran for this, but instead the dogs are gifted to them.

Part of the process includes ensuring that the dog and Veteran are a good match, and  then working with them to create a team to be successful.

The dogs they train are typically donated or pulled from local rescues as well as shelters, tested for their potential, and then trained and/or rehabilitated over many months at the Service Peace Warrior’s  facility in Eltopia. During that time, they work on developing the necessary skills to become a companion to their Veteran.

If a dog does not successfully make it through training, they are kept there or fostered until they can find a good fit as a family pet.

What We Do

As a non-profit, volunteers are crucial to Service Pearce Warrior’s success. Some of the duties that one can participate in include but are not necessarily limited to:

-playing/socializing dogs and puppies that helps adapt them to many different people

-cleaning the facility (mopping, washing food bowls, windows etc.)

-bathing/grooming the dogs.
