Responsibilities: Provide excellent customer service and assist adopters/potential adopters with their needs. Respond to general inquiries about assistance with pets and respond to general phone/email inquiries coming into the organization; answer questions about POPP dogs, policies and general information. Assist in finalizing adoptions by uploading adoption agreements into database. Provide adopters with electronic copies of all medical records. Register microchips and provide this information with additional post adoption support resources. Update data fields in database. Requirements: Superior customer service and responsiveness. Needs to have access to email throughout the day. Volunteers should have a solid working knowledge of SVPP; its history, mission and procedures as well as solid knowledge of the current inventory. Time Commitment: Ongoing commitment; flexible

Responsibilities: Transport volunteers use their personal vehicles to transport animals and/or supplies (i.e. rescue pick up, chauffeuring animals to/from medical or therapy visits, picking-up donations or helping with special event transport). Errands/pick up donations/drop off supplies. Requirements: Must have a reliable vehicle that is licensed and insured; the vehicle must have enough space for kenneled animals. Requires a valid driver’s license. Time Commitment: Flexibility of schedule; 2-4 hrs./week.

Responsibilities: Responsible for the daily care of a foster animal, including feeding, exercising, playtime, socialization, grooming, reinforcing basic obedience commands and, of course, providing patience, love and security. POPP will provide all necessary medical care and our Foster Teams will provide full support throughout the foster period. Must be willing to work with the pet to help them get ready for adoption. This may include housebreaking, basic training, socialization, etc. You may also need to transport the foster animal to scheduled medical appointments and/or adoption events and photo shoots as well as administer any required medications. Providing foster care will certainly be a rewarding experience as you are enabling the animal to go on to the greatest adventure – a place where he/she will be cherished and loved until a great forever home is found. Requirements: To be a successful foster parent, you will need a compassionate nature, flexibility, willingness to follow instructions and interest and/or knowledge of animal behavior. Frequent email updates are required, and responsiveness to our team is critical to the success of our foster program. Reliable computer, internet service and transportation. A fenced yard is preferred, but not necessary for dog foster parents. Cat/kitten fosters are indoor only.

Responsibilities: Bring new foster parent volunteers into the program by determining innovative recruiting methods. Process inquiries and screen applicants. Requirements: Recruiting and/or customer service experience desired. A keen understanding of both people and pets. We are looking for individuals who share a strong passion for POPP’s mission and a good understanding of the requirements of a successful foster parent volunteer. Time Commitment: 8-10 hours per week

Responsibilities: Work closely with POPP Board to create design solutions that have high visual impact for web and/or print to include ads, invitations, posters, newsletters, website graphics, etc. Must have a creative flair, up-to-date knowledge of industry software and a professional approach to time, costs and deadlines. Will need to be able to turn around design requests quickly. Requirements: Graphic design and/or html and website development experience. Time Commitment: 6-12 hrs./month This is a virtual opportunity

Responsibilities: Identify and enforce POPP marketing standards for our adoptable animals. Write colorful, accurate descriptions for our adoptable animals. The bios will be used on our website and social media platforms to introduce the animals to potential adopters. This volunteer will need to gather information on the animal through foster animal surveys that have been submitted by the foster family. These profiles will need to be updated if the animal stays in POPP care for an extended period. Requirements: Good writing skills including attention to grammar and sentence structure. Ability to write in a creative, positive style. Reliable computer and internet service. May coordinate photo shoots, video shoots. Will provide guidance to foster parents on how to better market their foster pets. Oversees bio writers, photographers, and the online posting team; ensures all adoptable animals have bios and photos online. Come up with fresh, innovative marketing campaigns for adoptable animals. Requirements: Must be creative and tech savvy. Time Commitment: 5-10 hrs./month

Working at the POPP Office and reception area. All kinds of tasks from filing, reception duties and much more. Requirements: Should have a solid working knowledge of POPP; it’s history, mission and procedures. Strong organizational and customer service skills. Time Commitment: 5-10 hrs./month 

This position supports POPP by being an active member of the fundraising committee, including, but is not limited to, attending meetings and planning events. Requirements: Fundraisers should have a solid working knowledge of POPP; it’s history, mission and procedures. Strong organizational and customer service skills. Time Commitment: 5-10 hrs./month (commitment increases with larger events)

Will work closely with POPP Board of Directors. Responsible for performing grant research, developing and writing grant proposals to grant-making organizations, Complete grant paperwork and monitoring processes, and will persuasively communicate POPP’s mission and programs to potential funders. Requirements: Project management skills, good organizational skills, strong command of written and verbal communication. Experience in researching, writing, and submitting grants. Love of cats, dog, spay/neuter initiatives, and animal welfare in Tri-Cities area. Time Commitment: varies per opportunity

Coordinate with partners and foster parents for adoption events, coordinates event volunteers, sets up the necessary equipment (tables, crates, puppy pens) and manages the event Requirements: Coordinator should have a solid working knowledge of POPP; it’s history, mission and procedures.
